i hate faggots!

this just in... i couldn't help but laugh at it. (courtesy of another anonymous friend)

he thinks all this is to get back at him. can you believe it?! where on earth will i ever get that kind of idea. i can't even wait to get him out of my life and never see him again. funny that he thinks he's actually worth so much of my time.

anyway, see what i mean by him being 'trapped in his pathetic bubble'. i explained and argued with him until the cows come home la. and i thought he got it.. probably just unwillingly. sadly, the dumb bloke is still living in denial. good for him that he has his own 'fan club'.. he probably needs all the friends he has, but any other logical person is on my side. i've spoken to mutual friends of ours and so far, all of them agree with me. as far as i'm concerned, my conscience is clear.

you may not agree with what i say, but that does not equate to me telling a lie. when you accuse me like that, you become the liar.

girls who can dance are HAWT!

korean girl bands are the in-things now it seems. hmm.. actually come to think of it, even the boy bands are doing well. BUT.. the dance is the part that gets my attention. 'nobody' was a great hit, and now there's after school. the choreography for this is song is damn sexy la. that was perhaps why i wanted to learn dancing in the first place...

see... now tell me that's not hot.

live our dreams, fly our flag

i just spent the past hour and a half watching NDP live online. and my gosh... i miss singapore so much! it's my second year living abroad but i think last year i was busy playing mahjong or something, so i didn't feel like i missed out on anything. this year, watching the national day parade and listening to all the national day songs make me miss home like mad. the theme song this year was only so-so though.. maybe because i'm not corianne may's biggest fan(to be honest, i'm not even a fan). but when kit chan appeared and started singing 'home'... i cried. it's the best national day song ever and even i will feel all patriotic and pro-singapore when i hear it every national day. just now, it was the first time i'm actually touched by the song. even the lyrics mean so much more.

2010's parade is cool.. got mobile column! and the fireworks so pretty.. especially when the camera shows the skyline. there's almost fireworks from every major building within city hall and marina area. and all the heartland venues also.. my gosh, the crowd looks huge man. now i have this gigantic craving for mee soto, prata, ayam penyat and ba chor mee. i want to go home......

singapore is home, truly.. where my senses tell me. this is where i won't be alone. for this is where i know i'm home. happy 45th birthday singapore!

seafood galore

took this picture early one morning in the city.. i think it was the morning i went harbour town. i've never been to the city so early before and suddenly i see all these trucks and lorries loading goods. haha! that's their loading/unloading bay.. right smack in the middle of the road. and mind you.. this isn't the road for cars. it's the only other time i've seen cars drive in other than the floats during prosh.

anyway, it's been a great 8 days with hongwei's parents around. on their last night here, they asked me along for dinner at freo. and goodness, they were generous man!

wahhh.. this got me excited.

 bbq lobster ad seafood platter.

the oysters are so fresh i could eat 10 of them! (:

we also ordered fish & chips and prawns. heh heh. hongwei and i sent his parents to the airport this morning.. man, another week just flew by. it feels as though time is in a mad rush against itself. here i am trying to take it slow and allowing myself to slack a little.. but no, everytime i look at the calender on my wall, i want to bang my head against it. sigh.. so much for the 'slow pace of life' i get here in australia.

oh.. i got myself an early birthday present. HAHA!

thank you papu and mamu!
(er.. and while i was at it, i bought 4 dvds too)

小娘惹-ing

i've been busy. or rather, i've kept myself busy.. with all the wrong things. 小娘惹 is keeping me glued to my macbook.. now even mummy is bugging me to go online and stream the video for her to watch. holidays are over and it's back to school like everyone else. lucky for me.. i only have 2 weeks to endure, then all my attention will be on australia. the quiz today was dreadful... like seriously dreadful! still have to churn out 2 assignments and study for final exams in the next... crap, did i say 2 weeks?! quite a few things going on the next 2 weeks. some suggestions were malacca, movie marathon, dental appointment, body checkup etc.. oh, and mug like crazy. i think 2009 is flying by.. even though it's only been 5 days. so many things happened already la. the kind of things that make you go "wah" or "omg". pastor shared about this year's plans for the church.. i'm sure alot of people are going to get attached (confirm plus chop plus guarantee). people's blogs are going to be so fun to read.. haha! ok.. back to 小娘惹. last episode for now.. i promise. it's going to be one heck of a week.. make that two.

29 days to australia.

the sweetest thing

bono wrote this song for his wife because he forgot her birthday. very cute. the music video is quite star-studded and his wife gets to sit on a carriage! it sure rocks to be bono's wife.. or the wife of some frontman of an extremely well-established rock band. gwyneth paltrow is such another lucky lady.

woohoo.. results for dajie's draw is out and the lucky winner is............ ME! sweeeet.

guys are dumb, period.

a couple of things i see around quite often lately.. and i need to get it off my chest. well, last week someone mentioned.. there's a little girl in every woman. kristy says.. there's little girl for the parents, little woman for the man she loves and respect, and miss independent for the rest of the world. every girl wants to be the princess who falls in love with her prince charming.. and i admit i'm no exception. but things ain't like what it used to be anymore because prince charming left no descendents. boo hoo! well, have no fear.. miss independent is here. some woman are followers while some are not. i am the former. she has ruled my lovelife the past 21 years and i am quite thankful she did, not counting the few intrusions from prince "alarming" (aka pseudo 'prince-charming's). she fended me well. however, miss independent can be quite a bitch at times.. and that frustrates me. i want to get rid of her but looking around, i figured i'll be better off with her rather than supporting little woman. i tried to let little woman take over.. seriously! but it makes me feel so... weak, defeated and reliant. and i thought it would be everything else.. phfft. perhaps i thought wrong.. or maybe it's just unrealistic of me to have certain expectations.

guys are just plain dumb (when it comes to certain matters) and i am not saying this in retrospect. i have my reasons for making such a statement (and if you're thinking it's because i got hurt by some jerk or something.. no, that's not it). who needs a pussy for a man?! currently, there's quite abit of hype to get attached. heard some people saying it's all starting to get a little overrated. i think the term 'overrated' itself is a downright understatement. the dating game is no longer fun.. they expected you to play it a certain way and abide by their rules. please stop killing the bantering and spontaneousness! i have had quite enough.. so my decision is to give miss independent her throne back. little woman can go sit one corner and continue being little.. or, she could jolly well dig a hole and bury herself because miss independent is here to stay.

life's not fair

i've quite had it. more and more people are passing comments which suggest i'm lazy or that i sleep too much. come on, this is totally unfair la! who are you so criticise me like that? it's fine that i'm abruptly awaken by their calls or smses.. but just because it's after 10am, the first thing that people always say is "wah.. pig ah you?" (or something along that line.. you know what i mean). worst if you call and then tell me you'll call back later after i "wake up". please la.. the fact i answered means i've already awakened.. so just talk to me la. it's honestly not my fault that my sleeping hours are different from most people. i'm just fortunate i don't have to wake up at 6am and drag my ass to work/school. have these people also thought for a second that there are millions of others around the world who are also still snoozing when they get up. so why just judge me? it probably didn't cross their minds that i usually sleep after 3am, sometimes later. so be realistic.. waking up at 11am only means i'm getting roughly 6-7 hours of sleep. reasonable what! ok.. i do admit i tend to sleep in. but don't pass judgmental statements along with your assumptions. if you happen to be feeling slightly guilty right now.. just stop the comments ya (even if you're 'joking'.. if you know me well, you will know i don't have a very lame sense of humour). i realise i'm sounding extremely pissed but i'm just ranting. anyway, for your information, these comments are from friends.. some close ones even. so yea.. i'm not angry at anyone in particular.. just a little frustrated with this whole issue, it's just all-so-demoralising.

feel much better now that i'm done ranting. thanks for bearing with me. (:

mind your own business

some things are bothering me. and i can't keep it in anymore.

rumour : a story or statement in general circulation without confirmation or certainty as to facts

having your own opinions and ideas are great, in fact, i really don't care what you think. don't go around assuming you know how things work just because you think you've heard or seen enough, because you really know nothing. good for you if you like to share your thoughts with random others but take into consideration to whom you're speaking to and more importantly, the relevance of what you're saying. i don't comprehend what pleasure or fulfillment you get from hearing people agree with the things you share but if such gratification is what you're seeking (or worse still, the only thing you seek).. then i say, screw you. honestly, just grow up and get a life. actually no, my advise would be.. stop existing and start living.

think i sound angry.. ya i am. but don't even bother asking.. just mind your own business!

manhood? i beg to differ

read an article about singaporean guys and how they're being reduced to females' bag-carrier. with the talk about equality between man and woman, when it comes to relationships.. it's never really equal. i can't remember the exact content of the article.. but it got me thinking. do ladies seriously need their guy to hold their bags for them?! unless their bags are heavier than themselves la. it is alright for guys to offer help when girls are weighed down by excess baggage.. that IS a gentlemanly gesture. (note the word 'excess') if you can't differentiate between a shopping bag and a handbag, then may God help you. it may seem "gentlemanly" for guys to carry their girlfriend's bag. but honestly, i think it's hilarious. the sight of a big man slinging a handbag on his shoulder is a complete mismatch. if the girl can't even carry her own bag when she's out.. then don't bring bag la. how heavy can your keys, make up kit and purse be?! even though i'm female, i don't think guys carrying girls' bags is a display of "manhood". in fact, sometimes i think that phrase is slightly abused. hmm.. no. 'slightly' is an understatement.

whatever it is, i'll not let my guy carry my bag.. i don't want a pussy.

simpsons just ain't for kids.. it's way too dysfunctional. rather ironic that they call it familty entertainment. just look at what you've got.. drunked cum couch-potato father, rebellious plus trouble-maker son, daughter whose only concern is everyone and everything that's not related to her family and a mother who has no idea how to deal with her drunked cum couch-potato husband, rebellious plus trouble-maker son and daughter whose only concern is everyone and everything that's not related to her family. i suppose maggie's the only decent character in the show.

however.. it's still good humour while it lasted. we adults think it's childish.. i mean, seriously. looking at homer.. don't you think he's dumber than your average 4 year olds? yet the show can be kind of misleading for children. but there's already so many screwed up kids programs out there.. winnie the pooh is another classic. for starters, how weird is it for christopher robin to be talking to his stuffed toy, thinking it's actually alive. pooh eats honey and has the IQ of probably 20. then there's piglet.. he's a guy who's pink and has the guts smaller than anything. eeyore's the emo one. kanga and roo is another funny pair. ever wondered where's roo's father? (single-parent family.. not exactly very healthy context for children. no offense though). tigger is the hyper-active destructive thing. i guess rabbit and owl are alright. and that's winnie the pooh for you.

well, i agree when they say television destroys creativity. (to some extent)

secrets and lies.. seen and heard so much. i have them too.. that's the truth. recently i shared an extremely presonal part of my life to someone. it's a secret that i thought would never be exposed to this world.. but it was the leading of the Holy Spirit that got me to share about it. it feels good to share.. but i'm also feeling very vulnerable. i hate things that contradict.. it confuses me.

secrets and lies hurt. i guess i've upset many, and i've been crushed umpteen times too. sometimes a 'sorry' just isn't enough. maybe it's just me.. apparently, i bear grudges too easily. well, tell me if i do.. but i really can't tolerate someone betraying my trust. controlling my emotions is not something i do well.. that's obviously not always good.

dear God, come and help me!! sometimes the pain is just overwhelming. i just want to lift this burden up into Your hands.

france beat brazil.. that's worth celebrating. what a time of mourning it must be for the fans of brazil.. =) zidane is my hero.. but i'm hoping germany will win the worldcup.. france can be the runner-up.
