take a breather

first post of 2013.

to begin, it's been a hectic start to this year. stupid curtin didn't even bother to give me any response about my application which pissed the crap out of me. thankfully, i had the most awesome trip to europe to help me get over that. seriously the best 17 days ever! got back in time for chinese new year while preparing to leave for perth, yes again.

so here i am back in good old oz to study for ANOTHER YEAR (what the hell was i thinking?!).

it's now end of week 2 and i'm just sort of settled in. finally got through all my academic administration frustrations and slowly trying to catch up on work. the first week of uni was really horrendous. i would say this year is probably even worse than last year. it's like starting all over again which sucks because i should have known better. but the decision is already made and i will be here in 2013, so i might as well make the best out of it.

a shoutout to my dearest michelle: happy birthday fellow yaya! i did not forget you even though it seems that way. have a great year and all the best! xo

here we go.. again

so it's official.. i'm going back to australia. "to do my masters?" you might ask. well.. sad to say, no. i'm going to be spending one year doing my graduate diploma and really believe i can score well enough for me to carry on with my masters the following year. so the plan will be another 2 years in perth, if all goes well.

i'm thrilled to have the chance to go back to perth but things are different from before. i don't have my close friends there anymore and basically i'm going over by myself. of course i know people there, but it's just different. it's not that i dread going back to perth, i'm just scared to be alone this time.

on a happier note, suling still have one semester left so that means i do have one friend there until june. haha! she'll be in curtin and probably live not very near me, so i wonder how often we'd actually meet. still, she's my biggest comfort right now. things are kind of hectic and there's lots to do. i'm in a mad rush to apply for visa, book my air tickets, plan my accomodation and what not in the next few weeks. schools starts on 27th february.. time to get cracking!

engagement

finally met up with my ya-yas.. and got etude house orders from mich! and the darling girl got us so many other goodies too. it's as though christmas came early.

we had dinner at some restaurant near haji lane.. nice white decor with simple furnishings. sorry i didn't take more pictures. was probably too hungry and excited about finally catching up with my girls.

OH OH!!! and hadh shared with us the most wonderful news.. razi proposed! (: lucky girl... with her $4000+ charlotte ring looking absolutely gorgeous.

i'm so happy for you my dear!

i am suddenly reminded that we are all growing up. we will have to move on to other things as we progress be it society telling us what we should do or we making the decision for ourselves. society is probably telling me to find a job and start working, slowly saving up for my settling down/family plans in a couple of years to come. but.. i still want to go overseas to study and travel the world. well, if you think about it this way.. it really sucks to grow up.

the most beautiful song ever. heard it on "so you think you can dance (australia)".. it was used in a contemporary routine. when i heard the song as the dancers danced to it, it was super magical. i couldn't find a clear video of the duet by celion dion and andrea bocelli.. but josh groban sounds just as good.

my internet is recently up. yea, i've moved again. but my new house is pretty awesome, especially my room. only down side is that it's in the suburb.. well, goodbye city life. anyway, back to my room.. it's huge! like really huge.. it's bigger than any of my previous rooms and the rent is so much cheaper! it's huge to the extent that i can even put a mini fridge and tv if i wanted to.. besides the king-size bed and table that's already there. oh.. and i have a walk-in wardrobe. see! i told you my room is awesome. (:

3rd year is slightly more hectic than 2nd, hence my lack of updates. there's less contact time but now we have prac hours to clock. and i think by now, i'm pretty used to not having internet.. so it'll take a while before my habit of blogging gets back on track. i'll post pictures up soon.. there's tons of them but i'm a little lazy right now.

on another note, i miss my friends (you know who you are). wish i can be there for them when they need me.. i just hope i'm not forgotten.

wrap up

i know i'm late in doing my 'thoughts on 2009/welcome 2010' post but here it is anyway. sorry for the delay.. bangkok from the 27th-30th was too tiring i had to rest on the 31st.

2009 was great! well.. for one, i managed to cross out most things on my goal-setting card. most of the year are memories of australia.. and that's something i have my daddys to thank for. it's really hard being away from home all these months but i'm really thankful for my besties who are just like family to me.

doh, not my friend for the longest time but he's my life saver in aussie. definitely the most unlikely person i'd imagine to be my bestie but yea.. i know i seem awfully violent but that's how i show my love. i promise to be better though!

jerry baby! just a really awesome guy with the nicest personality. thanks for letting a shuai-ge sit beside me on the flight back.

of course there's my lovelies back in singapore.. who constantly send their love over, without which i would have died. thanks for remembering me even while i was away. you girls really need to know how important you are to me.. thanks for the past 5 years. i know i can always count on you 3 to be there for me.

and andy dearest, for always keeping me company on msn.. showing me videos on youtube and giving me updates about what's going on in church. it's not that i don't get your point.. i do. you just don't like it when i disagree with you and then you'll say i don't get it. still, it's always nice to hear from my happy rocker.

last but definitely not the least.. pow. 2009 isn't 2009 without you. the past 11 months knowing you has been an adventure and the last 6 months loving you has been a fairytale. i really don't know what you see in me but i'm very grateful that you chose to love me.. because i'd never in my life think i could actually find a guy as perfect (in my opinion) as you. thank you for seeing the best in me and loving me so unconditionally. kiss kiss.

trip to orchard ion

meet the ya-yas on sunday after jurong service. the girls decided to bring me around ion! went to see sephora and other stuff, kikki.k too.. which was first introduced by jerry back in perth. spent most of the evening at cedele talking. seriously, we could go on forever. i'm really glad to meet up with them finally.. and not to mention i'm super happy for hadh who's so blissfully attached now. haha! just before we left, we went to take photos outside ion..

it's great to be back girls.. can't wait for the subsequent 'meet & greet' sessions. (:

it felt good to hear that when the air stewardess announced that we've arrived and touched down in singapore. i'm finally back! exams ended on tuesday but there was so much to do i didn't have time to update until now..

i think SQ revamped their aircarfts. the seats are different.. better in fact. and there are so many movies to choose from! their 'new release' are really very new.. "the time traveller's wife" was showing! but pow promised to watch it with me when he gets back.. so i'll wait. jerry and i choose to watch my sister's keeper and julie & julia during our 5-hour flight. the former was.. totally brilliant! i cried at so many points in the show.. even jerry also. anyway, food served has improved also. the potato salad and ham appetizer was my favourite!

finally arrived back home in singapore.. feels good to be back. thanks ya-yas for the lovely welcome, and dear hadh for bringing a special guest. can't wait to catch up with you girls on sunday!

i'm halfway through my exams. erm.. slightly more than halfway. but today's paper was really like crap. i came out of the LT wanting to cry.. it felt exactly the same as when i did my chemistry paper during A's. not a very nice de javu. all my other units are fine.. it's just neuroanatomy *STAB STAB STAB*. on a more happy note, i came home to see that my parcel has arrived! i rushed straight to the post office to collect it. it was the only thing i could take comfort in now. my girls sure know how to be there for me. (:  anyway, i love the stuff you girls got! will pose and upload pictures after my exams yea? thank you ya-yas.

 used to only have a thing for the lead. but after hearing the guitarist sing ne-yo's 'closer'.. i confess there's another small crush going on. HAHA! now there's something i can tick off on my list.. oh, one and a half in fact.

macritchie hike on sunday. i really couldn't get out of bed for it but gabriel saw aeroplane so many times already, i felt real bad. it was supposed to be a simple walk.. they estimated 2 hours or so. the treetop trail sounded like fun so we went for it. just getting to the bridge was already a 5km journey and it took us only about 10 minutes on it. $%*#@ well.. the view was great though.
