my birthday package finally arrived!!! i was real excited when i went to collect it at the post office. (:

yay! i love seeing my name on parcels.

ta-dah!

bag and card from the girls.

my new topshop clutch.. with detachable strap too. looks fabulous!

my girls truly know me well.

i'd say this is the cutest card i've received from them.. haha!

you all miss pow more than me hor! his name keeps appearing everywhere in the card la (there, as you see it and once in mich and hadh's messages).. my name only appeared once. -_-"
nevermind, i still love you all! in fact, i love you girls so much that the beautiful picture you sent is now hanging (more like sticking) on my wall. and yea.. the scrapbook you girls made for me when i first came over... it's not hidden in a box somewhere k, it's proudly on display!

accreditation

news news! i've passed my strength and conditioning level 1 course and completed my practical hours for AUSTSWIM. got both my certificates in the mail last week... it feels great man! oh, and i received a teacher's license card from AUSTSWIM too. i haven't actually done anything about it yet.. but it's still dead cool to know i'm a qualified swimming instructor now. going to apply for a job at uniswim next semester. awesome man... (: i hear the pay is good, plus the hours are pretty relaxed. as in you can choose to work as many (or as little) hours per week so that rocks my socks totally.

yea.. this is just a small distraction from all the studying. you'll hear me ranting quite often during this period.

happy bird-day

doh doh bird turned 23.. so of course we had to celebrate! eijean bought the 'cake' which was really pretty.

macaroons from La Galette.

stupid doh said he was going to take a nap at 11.30pm, then eijean came semi-panicking and asked about the plan. so pow and jerry jumped on him at 12am, dragged him out of bed and all. (i'm guessing it was all an act to build up the excitement factor but nevermind, we'll gladly play along with the birthday boy. afterall, 3 birthdays would give a a pretty good idea of how things would go in this house already.) after the song and making of wish, comes the present part.. (:

eijean's present: fred perry polo

our present: bag from jack london

have a good one, handsome boy!

happy birthday.. and a not-so-pleasant story

happy birthday to me.. yay! erm ya.. that was some time last last week. anyway, it was delightful thanks to my dear friends.

the surprise sprang on me during half-time between chelsea and stoke.
(erm.. excuse the towel-wrapped head. better to focus on the ARSENAL jersey.)

my 'banana something' cake from miss maud.
i love the candles.. don't you? thanks pow!

pow insisted on a photo with his present.

dinner at dragon palace...

peking duck. taste so good!

ohh.. this was good too.
king prawn with onion and carrot in butter sauce. slurps!

our dinner was a 'banquet for 2', so it came with dessert and everything. it was kind of pricey i would say.. but pow said it was worth it.

i really like my presents this year... (:
from pow...

from jerry, doh and eijean. (:
kikki k post-its, stationary holder, card and scented candles.

and 2 days later.. it was pow's birthday. (: we tried to surprise him.. but it didn't work. anyway...

i don't think it's very obvious but the flame is actually red.
some coloured candles i bought from freo..

my present for pow.

eijean's present!

doh couldn't stop laughing for almost a whole minute.

my boyfriend is such a great sport.

and here's the leopard print briefs. HAHA!

second birthday away from home and i suddenly realise how fast time flies. this year is it man.. the do-or-die. by the way, thank you to all the lovely people who sent their wishes!

well, the not-so-happy part is due to house issues. housemate issues to be more precise. the problem is not with me though.. it's a problem my other 2 housemates are having. it became my problem when one of them couldn't just be a man and suck it all in. he decides he wants to move out when the lease ends (after we've all pretty discussed and settled on staying here till end of the year) and childishly also announced that he will be joining another group to do a project because he, and i quote, "cannot see eye-to-eye with" my other housemate.

i have no issues with any of them.. of course living together with 'friends' is going to create some friction. different lifestyles and habits what.. i understand. i'm upset because he left me in the lurch.. so to speak. i feel betrayed and made use of by him and it really frustrates me because i have to fend for myself now. i've planned earlier in the year to prevent something like that from happening.. i've even told them something like that is likely to happen so we've decided to 'work it out' the best we can. he didn't do his part. he just decided he's not happy and wants out.

i told him off.. (maybe i was more upset than angry at that time, so i wasn't totally horrible when confronting him) i told him that he's selfish, petty and extremely childish. i didn't just throw those adjectives in his face la.. i explained why.

well.. i'll have to take things one step at a time now. see what happens next semester.

perth royal show

sorry this post took so long.. abit of warning first, there's going to be PLENTY of pictures (yes, pictures of me also.. so mummy won't complain she can't 'see' me). anyway, pow and i went to perth royal show! i bugged him for quite a long time for it. *thanks for being so sporting*

this would be the perfect present for juleen.

we came to this huge barn-looking place.. and there were crazy loads of chickens/birds. most of them were award-winning.. but some of them look mutated.

'ball in throat'

oh, this one is normal.. just extremely huge.
but you probably can't tell from this picture.

'budding beak'

'furry feet'

'cruella de vil'

sorry for all the random names.. haha. those i saw after were more regular looking.

i wanted to get a ride but it's for kids.

adorable right.. baby emu.

ducklings!!

some powdery candy.

hermit crabs.. i think. they paint the shells really prettily.
quite a neat idea for a pet.

one of the highlights of the show.. the goodie bags. this stall just has the confectionary.. there were so many showbags to choose from. (:

my only goodie bag for the day.

hee.. our first ride at the show. chair lift.. 7 bucks for about 5-7 minutes in the air. it's not that bad.

see how he's grabbing onto the pole.. haha. yea.. he admitted he's scared.

our feet were dangling in mid-air.
i think it's really fun, but pow says he had the 'balls drop' feeling.

yea.. the fun rides!

one of those "peel-and-win" kind of stuff. $2 a ticket. pow wanted to play for fun.
we didn't win with this one though.

yay.. our first prize. pow named her tabby.

second go at the 'peel-and-win' was a waste of money..
but pow said to give it one last shot

and we got dino. (:

i saw this ride and asked pow if we can ride it. he says he don't dare...

so we took the roller coaster instead.

we walked around some more and saw other stuff..

i really like these displays.. the most pretty pastries you'll see ever.

barbies 50th birthday cake. haha!

yes.. even this is a cake.

i saw a sign that reads "TOFFEE APPLE $3". couldn't resist.

enjoyed my toffee apple while watching bike stunts.

err.. yea. the bikers too fast already so all my pictures were blur.
the horses much slower.. so i can post this picture instead.

this one was cool. the switched off all the lights and these riders came out.
pretty cool stuff.

yay! fireworks are starting!

the pretty fireworks lasted about 8-10 minutes.. hence a happy, happy me.

there was still time before the place closed, so i decided to take the ride myself.

best ride i've had in a long while.

at showgrounds train station.. heading home.

thanks for the wonderful company.. it's the best i could ask for.
