almost near the end

so... i've been neglecting this space for a while. no excuse, i was just plain lazy plus i didn't really have much to update anyway. until now...

the next 3 weeks will be torturous for me. i hope i'll survive! never have i felt like i couldn't do it but this time, i'm actually afraid i might not make it. research is definitely not my forte, neither is report writing. i came into this semester thinking it'll be better than the last but this is probably my worst yet.

it's less than a month away before everything is over. i'm not entirely sure how i am going to do this but i guess i will just have to. after that, i can worry about everything else under the sun. oh and just to update, my application for physio got rejected. ):  that means i'll be going back to singapore for good. sighhh... although i should be happy about going back but something in me is just sad about leaving perth.

a song from way back but it sounds soooo amazing i keep listening to it.

a lot of of great aussie musicians are getting enough recognition for their awesome music, which is quite sad. i've discovered loads of them while studying/"working" in perth. you probably heard one hit from them playing on our singapore radio and then never heard their name again. like how i never knew eskimo joe was aussie until only last year! ok, that was a bad example since eskimo joe is well-known. sia is aussie too and she's amazing!

now i've found silverchair and i think they're great. pity they are playing together anymore... ): i actually heard this song on a qantas flight so i guess aussies are supporting aussies.. well done! when i first heard the chorus, i was drawn. it's been so long since i heard any music like that, why don't they make good music anymore?

only item i've tried so far and it's amazing. leaves my hair really soft and i do notice it helps with the frizziness a little. also loves that it doesn't leave an oily finish on my hands after applying.

overall i'm really happy with BB so far (this is my second box). will definitely be staying subscribed to BB for a while. however, i do think that i am extremely lucky to have 2 awesome boxes consecutively. i've read so many post of their facebook page about how some subscribers only receive 5 samples and certain items are of much lower value. not sure if i'm getting the better boxes because i'm new or if it's completely random but i'm definitely hoping my lucky streak continues. have a great weekend everyone! mid-week rant

this study break hasn't been going well, because i haven't been STUDYING! sighhhh....

i think i need to get out more and just enjoy my time here. i used to love my life in perth but sadly not so much this time round. maybe the LDR is taking its toll on me, or perhaps it's the lack of companionship.

suling was around during 1st semester last year, and that really helped me. but then came 2nd semester and it was so hard but thankfully dawn came along. and it became even better when i befriended tonia. this year, there's no more tonia to accompany me for lectures and no one to have lunch with me in my 'office'(yes, i have an office at uni where my table is. tonia and i used to share that room). man, this is getting really depressing the more i'm typing this out. you know what, i'm going to stop right here before i emo the crap out of myself. i really cannot afford to right now.

it's already wednesday and i still have soooo much work to catch up on before semester starts again. i really need to work bloody hard and make sure i'm ready for next week. bye for now.

happy easter 2013

the long weekend is here! and i really mean long considering study break starts after today. sadly, it will be no holiday for me. 2 assignments and a presentation awaits me once the break is over.

i had planned to 'celebrate' this easter by attending the easter service at south city church but things didn't go according to plan because of.. let's just call it 'unforeseen circumstances'. so to make myself feel less guilty, i watched chc's easter drama online. even after 12 years, i still enjoy watching the drama every single time(i will admit not so much the message though). still, easter reminds me of how much Jesus really loves and that i will always be thankful for. 

so to my beloved Jesus, thank You for laying down your life for mine, for showing me that i matter and for helping me believe that i deserved to be loved. have a great easter weekend everyone! 

take a breather

first post of 2013.

to begin, it's been a hectic start to this year. stupid curtin didn't even bother to give me any response about my application which pissed the crap out of me. thankfully, i had the most awesome trip to europe to help me get over that. seriously the best 17 days ever! got back in time for chinese new year while preparing to leave for perth, yes again.

so here i am back in good old oz to study for ANOTHER YEAR (what the hell was i thinking?!).

it's now end of week 2 and i'm just sort of settled in. finally got through all my academic administration frustrations and slowly trying to catch up on work. the first week of uni was really horrendous. i would say this year is probably even worse than last year. it's like starting all over again which sucks because i should have known better. but the decision is already made and i will be here in 2013, so i might as well make the best out of it.

a shoutout to my dearest michelle: happy birthday fellow yaya! i did not forget you even though it seems that way. have a great year and all the best! xo

perth royal show 2012

i figured since i'm back in perth, why not? i've ever only been to the royal show once and i loved it! dawn and dorita were my companions for the day! we went on the opening day(last saturday) which was amazing and quite hectic!

this blog needs some lovin'

it's not that i've been beyond busy with my life in perth, but i just didn't have the discipline to sit in front of my laptop and write up a post. this year did not turn out as badly as i expected it to. made some new friends and became closer to some old ones.
i think the most depressing about this year is my housing. don't even get me started on this topic but oh well, since i'm well ahead into my second semester, i will just live with it for now.

next year is going to be so much more promising! roh might be (most probably is) coming back to perth and hopefully we will both be doing our masters together. and if she's around, i can finally move out of this house.. yayy! still.. it's a long way before any of that will be known. let's all just hope for the best shall we? (:

maybe it's because i'm getting older, i'm not so into taking photos of everything and everyone anymore. hence the lack of updates on my blog or any of my other social media platforms for that matter. i think i prefer doing it the ol' school way, meeting and actually talking. gosh, never knew 25 would be like this. but i reckon it's good. the older i get, the lesser friends i have. but they become closer than ever.

can't wait for summer break to come.. i miss my family and friends back home.

time flies

i'm up rushing my assignment but as you can obviously tell, i'm distracted. i thought my blog would get more love from me this year, well apparently not. post grad is indeed different from undergrad. you'd think that you are used to how uni works by now but no, i'm struggling all over again.

it's not all school's fault. LDR has some blame too. whoever said absence makes the heart grows fonder is an idiot. you just miss the person like crazy at the beginning, then it just becomes annoying because you think you're going mad.

ok, that was just my little update/rant. fyi, it's almost end of mid-semester break. (where has all the time gone?!)

i never considered myself a fan of taylor swift because she is somewhat bimbotic and perhaps a little too hyper. her songs are catchy and nice, and i've definitely enjoyed listening to her albums. i'm just saying i was never really a fan, not like with jay chou.
BUT, recently i heard her new single on radio and i've really been loving this song. and when i saw the music video for it, i fell in love with her. her look was totally different from the usual big hair, cat-eye eyeliner and red lips. she looked so elegant and for the first time, absolutely stunning! yes, she's always looked good.. but it isn't the type of look i appreciate. if this is taylor swift grown up, i will probably convert and be a fan. her voice is amazing, there's no doubt about it. her live performances are really good and to me, that's very important if you want to call yourself a singer.

i really love her new look! hair, makeup, everything. i think she looks less slutty without the thick eyeliner.. haha! i'm not trying to be mean.. i'm just saying. (: and this is just such a beautiful song.. great harmonies with joy and john paul of the civil wars. somebody please teach me the tabs to this song. i promise to practice plucking!
