i was emo-ing for a while because of then sudden and extremely brief occurance of certain events. and when i emo, i listen to jay chou. was checking out his new single from his latest album.. 稻香.
i like it! and i don't care how many people tell me that jay chou can't sing, that he eats his own words or that he acts cool, i still think he's a genius and i love him. every new album will have a different element and theme that he plays with.. and i enjoyed all of it so far. yea, the melody may be simple(when you look at the chords for the guitar) but still the whole song works. let's not forget the lyricist too. 方文山 writes the most intricate and poignant lyrics.. and when matched with jay's music, it's just perfect. take time to read the lyrics.. they are really quite meaningful. and they touch on a variety of things such as deforestation, filial piety, nerds and paparazzi.. apart from the usual sappy love songs and oriental-influenced ones which are always as awesome.
pre-order for his new album, 魔杰座, is on.. and i heard the free-gift is a rubik's cube. cool man! JAY CHOU ROCKS. (:
