giver of life

i've always known that i'll want to donate my organs when i die eventually. but it was only when i saw an episode of Oprah that it sort of really got to me. it was the story of jason ray and how his organs saved 3 people's lives. while he was alive, he signed up to be an organ donor and told his parents about it. the response wasn't very encouraging of course. when the time came that the poor kid passed away due to an accident, his parents did eventually agree to it, remembering how adamant their son had been. it's a very inspiring story.. and people really ought to be more aware about such things. i hope one day oprah will talk to some marine biologist or animal activist to let people know what's happening to sharks and swallows. (ok, i'm refering to shark's fin and bird's nest). that'll be wicked la. although highly unlikely because americans don't really consume them. i like the Oprah show, it never fails to enlighten me.
