the final 21st

the year has come and (almost) gone.. and this is the last of the 21st-es. our dearest suling! the birthday girl was taking us someplace.. a surprise she said. instructions were to meet at sembawang mrt. my first thoughts... "*blank* what's at sembawang?!" anyway, she was late...... so we entertained ourselves.

we can imagine how long we waited for hadh to be looking like that.

initial plan was to meet at 7pm. we finally saw our star at 8.15pm. i was already dying to see the surprise and this was it...

the place is really nice. dinner by the beach.. it's quite something. very much like a quiet get-away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

we got down to business real quick.. order food!

so cool right.. 'wind in the hair' picture (mich has alot of these)

when dinner was over.. the cake came by itself. good service eh, we didn't even need to tell them. haha!

there was a contest.. "see who can blow out the candles first", and the winds won. but suling was such a sport and still went on to make a wish.

"ok, now for me to give my birthday speech."

yea.. another teary session and it was a spin off from me. suling la.. her birthday speech started with me.. about how she's sad and yet happy for me going to australia. then by the time it was hadh and michelle's turn.. tissue paper was ready on the table.

then... it was time for THE present. (: suling got super excited when she saw the lancome mascara because it's 'CLEO recommended'

happy birthday lingsu!

oh i forgot to mention.. the place plays cheesy songs from the 90s. "two become one", "as long as you love me", "barbie girl", "i will always love you", "i was dying inside to hold you"... not like i didn't enjoy, surprising i kind of did. very old school.. got some of us singing along with it. HAHA!

rest of the night was at esplanade.. at least until suling had to go. we stayed on till 1plus.. talking. i'm very glad that my girls are still the ones i can talk to even though we've all sort of moved on after graduation.

please tell me this is a good shot.. i quite like it leh. looks as though it taken with a DSLR.
(haha.. i wish!)

it's been a while since i pampered myself, so i made an appointment to do my hair today. here's a little preview..
