last youth service at jurong west street 91... will miss that place. i remember my first arise and build.. back in hollywood theatre. think i was only in church for about 4 months plus.. and they annouced that they were going to have building fund again. of course back then we didn't know where the building was going to be..(like now) but people were all so excited!! though i didn't have much then.. but i definitely gave my best. well, what can you expect from a sec 2! back then, everyone would scrap and save. building fund period meant dinner at hawker centre.. $2 kind, strictly no fast food because we couldn't afford. cg outings would include things like guitar fellowship, window shopping and on certain rare occasions.. bowling. no movies or anything that costed too much money. birthday presents would usually cost about $5 or less.. if not hand-made cards.. haha! though it seemed life was pretty boring but everyone 'suffered' together.. so no one really felt it was very difficult. it took the church 7 years to save up all they needed for the building we have now at jurong.. think they had 1 every year or something.. not too sure. i wasn't part of all but i'm glad i was able to participate in 3 of it. you can imagine my delight when we finally moved to boon lay.. the big auditorium, lights and everything, not to mention the LCD screen!! it was like... WOAH!! seats were wider than those at hollywood.. haha. now we have more space to jump and praise God. in hollywood, we usually had to jump at the same time.. so that we won't keep hitting each other. there's the disadvantage of being a sister(worse if you're a short one..), when worship begins.. it's almost impossible to lift your hands higher than eye-level.. well, that's if you're sitting beside 2 brothers. now it's kind of funny when i try and recall the times there.. hollywood, jurong and now EXPO!! hmm... the church is indeed going from glory to glory.

the current building fund is going to end soon.. hang in there people, even if it means cheap-o christmas presents. haha.. i think we all understand. =)
