i never considered myself a fan of taylor swift because she is somewhat bimbotic and perhaps a little too hyper. her songs are catchy and nice, and i've definitely enjoyed listening to her albums. i'm just saying i was never really a fan, not like with jay chou.
BUT, recently i heard her new single on radio and i've really been loving this song. and when i saw the music video for it, i fell in love with her. her look was totally different from the usual big hair, cat-eye eyeliner and red lips. she looked so elegant and for the first time, absolutely stunning! yes, she's always looked good.. but it isn't the type of look i appreciate. if this is taylor swift grown up, i will probably convert and be a fan. her voice is amazing, there's no doubt about it. her live performances are really good and to me, that's very important if you want to call yourself a singer.

i really love her new look! hair, makeup, everything. i think she looks less slutty without the thick eyeliner.. haha! i'm not trying to be mean.. i'm just saying. (: and this is just such a beautiful song.. great harmonies with joy and john paul of the civil wars. somebody please teach me the tabs to this song. i promise to practice plucking!

anyway, this entry is dedicated to pow. last valentine i recorded a cover of 'valentine' by kina grannis but didn't have the courage to upload it online. but i did still show pow the video and he loved it. this year, i decided to let the writers sing their own song.. haha. it is coincidence that it's another song by kina grannis but i really do like her music. enjoy!

for all that we have been through, i hope it will be forever. the year ahead will not be easy and i hope we both will come out of it well. "i love you not only for who you are, but for who i am when i am with you."

sigma premium travel kit - classy in silver

this is kind of overdue but i wasn't very motivated to get down to blogging about it because it was somewhat a disappointment for me. anyway, here is my sigma haul!

comes in a nice box with lots of pamphlets.

my free gift.. which is quite nice.

i got it in the mail before christmas but i waited till christmas day to open it! haha.. because as some of you know i was kind of trapped at home during the holidays so this was one of the highlights for me.

when i first opened the black mesh bag and took it out, i was already a little disappointed because the bag didn't feel like very high quality. from all the reviews i've seen on youtube about sigma, i always had the impression that their products were very good quality. i wasn't expecting top quality as well since sigma brushes are much cheaper, relative to mac ones but they ended up falling short of my expectation a bit.

dajie owns several sigma brushes and i thought they were pretty nice. when i got mine, the first thing i notice was...

which was mostly why i was disappointed with the brush kit. dajie bought her sigma brushes a couple of years back and back then, they were made in U.S.A! i guess now sigma is expanding too quickly because of all the hype and marketing on youtube, they've outsourced their factories. the brushes are still good, bristles are as soft as i imagined them to be. but the engraving on the brushes are horrid! there's hardly any consistency in the print and that's sad because my brushes look like a mess even though they are supposedly from the same kit.

i had the intention to get the sigmax round top kabuki and a few other things from sigma but after this purchase, i'm reconsidering. i'm not trashing the brand or anything, the brushes are still great for an affordable price. it's just that i am paying for the brand and i'm just anal like that. apparently there's another cheaper alternative to sigma brushes that i've been hearing about and it is sadona lace. they are obviously not as commercialized as sigma but maybe they will get there some day.

let's wait till thanksgiving this year. i will probably not be able to resist the black friday sale and just order more stuff from them anyway. (:

so it's official.. i'm going back to australia. "to do my masters?" you might ask. well.. sad to say, no. i'm going to be spending one year doing my graduate diploma and really believe i can score well enough for me to carry on with my masters the following year. so the plan will be another 2 years in perth, if all goes well.

i'm thrilled to have the chance to go back to perth but things are different from before. i don't have my close friends there anymore and basically i'm going over by myself. of course i know people there, but it's just different. it's not that i dread going back to perth, i'm just scared to be alone this time.

on a happier note, suling still have one semester left so that means i do have one friend there until june. haha! she'll be in curtin and probably live not very near me, so i wonder how often we'd actually meet. still, she's my biggest comfort right now. things are kind of hectic and there's lots to do. i'm in a mad rush to apply for visa, book my air tickets, plan my accomodation and what not in the next few weeks. schools starts on 27th february.. time to get cracking!

urban decay naked 2 palette

so the long-awaited sequel to the naked palette is finally here! naked 2 officially launched in singapore at sephora ION on saturday from 3pm to 5pm and i'm very happy to say that i am now the proud owner of the naked 2!! it retails for SGD$80, which i'm not very pleased about, but i guess it's still worth it since i wanted it so badly.

the naked 2 came with a lip junkie(in naked) instead of a primer potion.

not forgetting the double-ended brush inside.

there are 5 brand new shades but half-baked is repeated in this palette. and my favourite thing about it is that it comes with foxy and blackout which are awesome matte shades for highlighting and doing a smokey eye respectively. the packaging is also different but i don't know if it's better or not. it's definitely more durable because it comes in a metal tin but i feel that the original packaging looks more chic. however, that's just my opinion.

comparing the original naked and the naked 2...

i know it looks very similar to most people but they are really two very different palettes. i personally prefer the naked 2 because the colours are more taupe-ish and neutral, basically the colours are lighter. the original naked palette is great for darker smokey eye looks which i do not always wear, hence my greater love for the naked 2.

i will say now that i am an urban decay fan.. because i own the naked palette, the naked 2 palette and their 15th anniversary palette. you'll probably think i'm crazy but i really really love my collection! (:

don't know how crazy the crowd will be but just in case, i am going to be there by 12pm latest. MUST GET MY HANDS ON THE NAKED2!!! i didn't think it will reach singapore shores this quick since it was only launch in US on 5 dec last year (feels weird calling 2011 last year). oh my gosh, i'm so excited. i can't wait for saturday to be here...! so i'm finally back in touch with technology and the internet. oh how i've missed you! watching youtube on my iphone is no fun at all. anyway, HAPPY 2012 everybody! i didn't get to celebrate christmas and new years which made me a little down. december is my favourite time of the year because of all the celebrations and time that i get to spend with loved ones. well, i guess there's always next year right.

so beside watching a million and one movies on HBO and US dramas on FOX, i started reading twilight. before you say anything, yes i know. how slow can i be?! i've never really caught the twilight craze even after watching the movie. in the first place, i only watched the movie because of robert pattinson. but as the story progresses, questions started coming up because i didn't read the book. i think it's a little too much for my sister so she lent me the whole series to read. i'm still halfway through the first book and i will say that i am enjoying it much more than i expected to. now i just want to quickly finish reading all the books and re-watch the movies again. maybe i'll have a better appreciation for the movie second time round.

people kept talking about the 'twilight song' and i've always thought they meant "it will rain" by bruno mars. i only went to google "a thousand years" when i saw a tweet about it being the 'twilight song'.. and it's a really nice song. honestly, i'd think this song is so much more appropriate as the theme song for breaking dawn than the bruno mars one. i know we've all watched it before, but here it is so enjoy.

a new me

so as of tomorrow, i will be a brand new person. ok, only some parts are brand new, there are still parts of me that will stay unchanged. i'll just take it as i'm going into a retreat. yes, literally because i will have no internet connection for a good 3-4 days. (i seriously wonder how i will survive but nonetheless i will try.) i will have plenty of time which i what i need right now. so until i get back, merry christmas and happy holidays everyone!

last day in perth.. you can imagine the sadness in me. but still, there's lots to do.. need to go northbridge(aka chinatown) and buy stuff. so no real agenda for today.. more like "errands" day.

pow met up with his friends for dimsum in the morning while i packed my stuff. we were suppose to meet at northbridge after that but i felt unwell on the way to meet him. it was a slight gastric working up because i didn't really ate a full breakfast, so we stopped by tak chee for chicken rice.

best chicken rice in perth, recommended by kinaun.

we ordered half a chicken..

after buying everything, we went to the city again. because we haven't actually seen all the new stuff that was up.

dinner plans was actually ciao italia.. but we were really dreading the queue. plus jean wasn't feeling well so we ended up ta bao-ing back.

my all-time favourite: ciao italia fettucini and mariana risotto.

and of course their TIRAMISU!!!

we went to get san churros again because jean has some 1-for-1 offer. (:

so that wraps up my last day in perth. of course i bought stuff again as usual.. who can resist last minute shopping. seriously, there's so many things to buy in australia. so many stuff that singapore don't carry... anyway, here's my haul on my final day!

so the next day, dear jean kindly gave us a lift to the airport. we reached super early so we sat at dome to kill some time.

and hello singapore.

this trip has been awesome! it wasn't a real holiday kind of trip but i just love returning to perth. these are definitely some of the best memories of my life and perth will always have a special place in my heart.

morning of day 6... today was a nice day, because it's going to be a very chillax one. so to start off, i suggested going to subiaco for breakfast!

rest of the day was more shopping. the plan was to just visit the suburbs.. so good for me. dinner tonight was took bae kee with the jean and dudy. chuxuan and yvonne came along too.

today we will become tourguides. pow's colleague and her friends are visiting perth for the first time, so we're going to bring them around. the plan is simple.. shopping at harbour town! haha...

went to grab breakfast first, head to pancakes and grill in carillion city. and along the way, we passed by the iconic kangeroos. i told myself that before i left perth, i had to take pictures with 2 things, the group of kangeroos along barrack street and the little blue house along mounts bay road, which sadly i didn't get to the last time i was here.

(: all of headed back 'home' to rest before going out for dinner. pow wanted to bring them to little caesars at leederville.. manduring is a little too far la. so because i didn't want to risk another $500 fine, pow sacrificed and took the train to leederville. (got 4 girls plus me, so that was all the car could take. the $500 fine is another story.)

today was our whale-watching tour and we both overslept! reporting time was 9.45am and i woke up screaming at pow at 9.10am! so we rushed like mad dogs but thankfully we made it in time. everyone was already on the main cruiser when we reached the beach and i seriously thought they were leaving. but luckily this nice guy came to get us in a smaller boat...

i'll say that it's an exciting tour because i've never seen whales in real life before. of course, it's not the most spectacular thing either. really not possible for every whale that passes our boat to leap out of the water right? but i love such nature-related stuff.. so just even catching a small glimpse of them makes my day. next on the agenda was the lighthouse, we finally decided might as well since we already took the effort to drive 2.5 hours down south.

there were different charges depending on whether you just want to walk around the grounds or go up the lighthouse, similar to the cape leeuwin in margaret river. but this light house looks really short and the grounds isn't actually very big, unlike cape leeuwin, so we gave it a miss.

finally it was time to grab lunch! we drove over to bunkers bay cafe which was near the lighthouse. initially the plan was to wake up early(as in 7am early) to have breakfast here before whale-watching.. but yea, you know what happened. so we changed the plan to lunch instead.

i know it's very pricey but it was one of the most amazing foods i've tried. even the simple fish and chips was awesome.. but of course i loved my dish. the pork neck actually just tasted like regular fried pork. the flavours and all were so rich, sort of like fusion of vietnamese and chinese.

i spotted a bob-tail just in front of our table.

i came out of my seat and squat down to take this shot, then a waiter came by and asked what's wrong. pow replied, "oh nothing, it's just a lizard or something." and the waiter was like, "uh, that's probably a bob-tail or a blue-tongue." hahahahahaha... we being singaporeans la. how will know to differentiate between species of lizards. but i still thought that was really funny.

so we just got something to drink instead.

then it was time to head back to perth. by the time we finished our long lunch, it was almost 3.30pm i think. we had dinner plans that evening with zhihao and qingyuan so need to rush back.

finally made it back to the city but was slightly late. dinner tonight was TOTO! my favourite vietnamese restaurant in perth.

had a good time catching up with zhihao and qingyuan over dinner and mj.. haha! super tired by the time we got back.

some souvenirs i got from dunsborough.

haha.. i will need to explain this one. on the way back, i was so tired that i kept falling asleep while driving. so i pulled over at bunsbury and went into kmart. i was more of looking at makeup but instead i found this on sale. it's only $15.. what a steal! so i bought it.. lol! we also got necessities for the ride. the rest of the drive back wasn't that bad after that because pow was really sweet in taking care of me, opening the coke bottle when i needed a drink, feeding me unbearables along the way. thank goodness we made it back safely.

back to perth-day 3

day 3 is our 'mini roadrip' day and today we are off to busselton/dunsborough. first had breakfast at manhattan, a small cafe beside my old place.

pow ordered the breakfast special.. because it was cheap.

i went ahead with my favourite.. eggs benedict! (:

after that, it's time to head off. and guess what? it started drizzling! that isn't really important btw. haha.

didn't take much picture along the way because pow isn't good at taking them. oh, but we figured out how to use the cruise control! haha.. pow read the manual and instructed me accordingly. this made the 2+ hour drive a little easier, although it was actually more difficult at first. i wasn't used to my legs doing nothing, so i was more conscious of every little thing. but after a while, it was actually quite nice.

i won't bore you too much with the million photos i took in there.. but here's just an idea of what the observatory is all about.

the tour was for about 15-20 minutes, then the remaining 30 was for you to walk around on your own. it was really nice seeing the fishes and other marine life all around you. there were windows along the spiral staircase down, it's not like the whole structure is see-through. but it's still really nice, going 8m down to the bottom of the sea floor.

so that's the end of day 3. i was so tired that night because of all the driving. we went to sleep really early because there's whale-watching the next day(plus the drive back to perth)!

eos lip balm

so i was at far east plaza yesterday and smoochiezz was having a mini event. i wasn't going to buy anything for myself until i saw it. most of the makeup gurus i follow on youtube love it and have been raving about it in their monthly favourites videos, so i just had to get it. and here it is.. evolution of smooth(eos) lip balm!

it was selling for $9, which i now kind of regret buying, because i didn't know it was so cheap in the US. oh well, i guess it's just for the novelty of it. don't reckon alot of people in singapore will be whipping out an EOS lip balm when their lips are chapped. and like what everybody says... it does smell amazing! so i guess that's that.. might as well enjoy it since the money's already spent right?! (:

so here's our second day in perth.. today was going to be city shopping. yay!

this is one of the foods we really missed. we both ordered katsu don because it's our all-time favourite. if you want cheap and good food in perth.. definitely visit this place.

so about 3 weeks ago, i went to perth AGAIN for a short trip. i'm gonna do this real quick because it's a long overdue post.

oh oh, and my first purchase at Changi T1. MAC..! it's not super cheap, but i still saved a couple of dollars. got the blot powder and satin taupe eyeshadow!! it's gorgeous. (:

woke up bright and early the next day to move into eijean's place before heading out. while waiting for her, we went to TOAST for breakfast.

freo ramen. we had to make a stop here.. the ramen is delish!

we just walked around the markets and shops.. of course i was looking out for havis on offer for my sister too. it's nice to just stroll along without any agenda. went into target to see what's on offer and lucky me.. i found some clearance items.

decided to get only this. never heard of the brand before but it looks so pretty.. and only $5.88. might as well try it.

we didn't go for fish and chips at night because we didn't really think freo's standard is the same anymore. eijean did have some other program.. so we tagged along. she and chu xuan brought us fishing! (:

jean showed me a picture of one that puffed up after they caught it.. but all those we caught that night didn't seem to get agitated enough to puff up. so they just looked like some ugly-looking fish.

pow didn't have much luck in the beginning, but he finally got a catch too.

it's been a long while since my last movie. having said that, this movie i just watched was also a very random one. i haven't heard of this movie at all and only went to watch it because my cousin asked to. i'm not one for surprises, especially not when weekend tickets are $10. but, i absolutely enjoyed this movie. haven't seen such a endearing romance film in quite a while.

青春是一场大雨。即使感冒了，还盼望回头再淋它一次。

this story is based on Giddens Ko(九把刀) own experience with a girl he used to like alot. he wrote it into a novel which subsequently made it to he big screen. i won't bore you with the synopsis since you can easily google or wiki that up. i'll just say that it's nice to know in reality, not all love stories have a fairytale ending. i'm sure we all have that special guy or girl in our hearts whom we will never forget.

the english title is "you are the apple of my eye" and i really recommend everyone to go watch it. yes, it's just another love story but it's also not just about falling in love. somehow this movie really brings me back to my jc days, when eyecandies and silly infatuations first grew on me. it is true that the best part of a relationship is during the courtship period, but if it never becomes a relationship you won't actually think that way. back then when i had my little crushes, i always thought how happy i'd be if the guy also told me he liked me. all these puppy love that never made it to a proper relationship will always just be sweet memories to me.

i guess i'm lucky enough because there was finally a guy i liked who told me he liked me too and that was probably the main reason why i said yes when he asked me to be his girlfriend. suddenly the long list of what my future ideal boyfriend is going to be was thrown out of the door.. the stuff about, 'he must be older than me', 'he must be tall', blah blah blah.. that all didn't seem to exist at that moment. in the movie, the girl was so ready to say yes but the guy didn't ask. in the end they never got together and eventually she married someone else. so guys, next time you like a girl, just ask her. unless you are content to just to be part of her memory instead.

and because i really like this movie, i came home and googled about it. can you believe this guy (柯震东) is only 20 and the actress (陈妍希) is 28?! i'm really impressed man. and he even won the best newcomer award at this year's golden horse awards! definitely a movie to add to my dvd collection. (:

and coincidentally, i actually heard the main theme song for this movie without realising. last thursday night, doh and keane organized overnight mj. keane left this song playing on repeat so that his computer won't sleep. haha! so yea, i listened to this song the entire night and it did slowly grow on me. when the movie ended and the starting melody came on, i was like, "omg, it can't be!". everything just sort of came together nicely.. haha. the lyrics is actually very sweet. if i were 沈佳宜, i would be really touched.

i came home and had to blog about this straight away. i'm just too excited! after seeing people talk about it on youtube for the longest time... it has finally arrived at sephora here in singapore! yayness. and here it is......

you have no idea how eager i was to pick it up when i realise it was available. the first sign that catch my attention at sephora was actually the UD book of shadows IV. that is a pretty neat palette too but then that would be something that i cannot justify spending my money on. when i started to look away, the words "15th anniversary palette" caught my eye and my heart almost skipped a beat. all this while it wasn't available in singapore and i could only dream about it.. or hope angeline goes back to the states soon so i can take order from her. i literally went straight up to one of the sephora salesperson and asked, "hi, do you guys have the 15th anniversary palette?" then lo and behold, she directed her finger at the shelf just 2m away from me. haha! so yea.. long story short, i (with some convincing from dajie) decided to buy it as my christmas present this year. (:

this is definitely my favourite christmas gift!

this baby retails at S$80 at sephora. (i know right, 80 bucks for eyeshadows?! but i can't help it.. this is my new addiction) it's limited edition so i have to get it.. before i regret like with the 24/7 glide-on eyepencil set.

firstly, to all my muslim friends.. have a great holiday! one month of fasting such ain't easy.

the presidential elections are over. it was... well, all i can say is elections suck. i always seem to be upset after voting (although this is only my first time). i think alot of people are not pleased with the results and i'm probably one of those people feeling sore that Dr Tan Ching Bok lost by such a close margin. if only the 2 clowns didn't join in and be extra, most of their votes would have ended up with TCB i daresay. then we would have a completely different outcome.

i know nothing about politics seriously. i also have no idea why i'm even the slightly bit upset when i found out Tony Tan is our newly elected president. they say all these things about TT, stuff like how he thought it was foolish to build the MRT system blah blah blah. then like that how? why people don't say these things before the election. after results out already then post all over facebook. (or maybe people were already posting on facebook before polling day, just that i didn't see it. like i said, i know nothing about politics.) THEN HOW?!

i do sincerely hope that our new president will be able to prove himself worthy of this title. on a completely random note, what the hell you doing arsenal?! 8-2!!! how you end up with a score like that. when i went to sleep, it was only 5-1. sigh!

finally met up with my ya-yas.. and got etude house orders from mich! and the darling girl got us so many other goodies too. it's as though christmas came early.

we had dinner at some restaurant near haji lane.. nice white decor with simple furnishings. sorry i didn't take more pictures. was probably too hungry and excited about finally catching up with my girls.

i've been so dead when it comes to blogging this year. it used to be so much fun and i always finding myself writing entries even when i'm tired. i have no idea where all that energy went. maybe into my new hobby... makeup! (:

but anyway, i do feel like i want to start up my blog again. (although i don't think i will bother to change the layout and all just yet) i miss penning down my thoughts and going around with my camera snapping things i want to blog about. i realised i've missed out on alot of 'me' time lately. well, more like even since i came back to singapore. which partially explains why i haven't been blogging. it's definitely good to be back home but the pace of life here is really crazy fast! about 1-2 months ago, i started missing australia. i miss it so much that i seriously thought i could stay there forever. yea.. not very realistic i know. then hopefully i can at least get another 2 years there.. *fingers crossed*

i'm back. not because i have oh-so-many lovely things about my life to blog about.. but because the GE results really upset me.

the PAP lost their first GRC, but more importantly Singapore lost her brilliant foreign minister. i read in the papers today about MM Lee's comment with regards to the opposition winning a GRC.. he said, "you believe the workers' party is in Parliament to help the good of Singaporeans, or to oppose the PAP?" i would agree and say the latter. this is my first time voting so i won't act like i know all that's going on within the singapore political arena but the opposition rallies i've heard so far are always about "let me be your voice in the government" or "is this fair?!". please... singaporeans are so good in complaining, you really think government cannot hear meh? i don't understand how getting the opposition in will help. what? they complain on your behalf.. then? can they can confirm a solution will come out of them speaking instead of us commoners? and c'mon, life's never fair. there will be those that don't do as well in society than others.. and bad things will happen to good people. we all just need to work our hardest to overcome.

george yeo already promised to be the voice in the government for us.. if people really want change, isn't that a much better way to go about it than have opposition in? the PAP is against them(especially MM Lee it seems) so they are going to be disagreeing all the time. any ideas coming from the WP is probably going to be shot down. if george yeo speaks up, yes.. he'll probably get shot down too but he is in a much better position to negotiate than the opposition.

funny how the people in aljunied are so supportive of WP when it seems they don't really have any plans for them in the next 5 years. well, that was according to george yeo. i can't help but think it's all just an emotional rage. WP saying how unfair the government is treating us really doesn't show me how well the opposition will treat the people. they keep slamming PAP, but they also didn't actually promise you anything did they? (well, correct me if i'm wrong. like i said, i admit i'm pretty ignorant about politics)

anyway, it just makes me so mad to think even a minister as sincere and humble as george yeo would be so easily disregarded. no wonder the older generation PAP are such 'tyrants'! even when PM Lee apologized, people also criticize! so what singapore? what do you actually want out of all this? if you are truly unhappy and suffering in singapore, then migrate la. you complaining and thus being unsupportive and unproductive will hurt singapore's progress too. we don't need people like you. no wonder the government has to employ foreign talent! of course, you will only find out after you migrate that no country will treat foreigners are first class citizens. other countries are just like us.. they say they are democratic but when you and one of the locals are interviewing for the same job, their chances are surely higher than yours. i can't remember from which opposition party i heard this ridiculous statement(reform is it?) but that person has probably never lived overseas before. i beseech future voters to listen carefully to such statements made at rallies and not be taken over by your emotional surges.

oh my gosh... so many more things i can say about those 'stupid selfish people of aljunied' but nevermind. because what's done is done. i believe the government will not let such talent go to waste and i hope mr george yeo will still serve our country in whatever area he choses to venture into. AND PLEASE PEOPLE, STOP ASKING HIM TO RUN FOR PRESIDENCY! that's seriously the lamest thing i've heard.

mid semester break this time round is really late due to Unigames. it's held in perth this year so our break was in week 10 rather than 7. anyway, having the break so late almost killed me. it's not easy mugging and stressing for 9 weeks straight. when our break came, i couldn't be happier. the gang even planned a road trip to celebrate. (:

margaret river.. here we come! i took the first driver, so was driving for about 3 hours before we arrived. margaret river is called a shire instead of city/town.. which i think is cool.

everything closes super early and the shire is so small, so there's really no where to go at night. and we scared we might ran into kangeroos if we drive out so late.. so we just stayed home and played card games. visiting the lighthouse and caves the next day.. so stay tuned.

so you all know about my stupid ex-housemate. he's not staying with us anymore.. and i thought i'll finally have some peace and quiet this semester. but nooo.. he had to piss me off again. it's about the utility bill la.. but that's not the point. it's what he posted on fb that pissed me off.

- when someone tries to get money out of u...first they lie...and when the lie is exploited they reason...and when the reasoning is flawed they whine...wonder what the hell is wrong with them -

we(roh and i) attached the bill and showed him the calculations. everything was laid out for him to see. tell me in what way we lied? more like argued the whole way la.. well, we did try to start with reasoning but you can understand my frustration when people don't understand simple english. in the end, they make up their own story and just trap themselves in that pathetic tiny bubble. i also want to ask him what the hell is wrong with him. i don't know why he thinks we're out to cheat his money, because seriously i don't need his stinking cash! just who does he thinks he is? the audacity he has to accuse me of something like that just really makes my blood boil. it's my integrity he's playing at now, and i'm seriously not happy. this is no longer just at my financial expanse ok and i'm definitely not going to allow that to happen. i will demand that he pays his share even if it's a measly $20. why the heck should i penalise myself in this situation, right?

he says he don't want to pay for 'things he didn't use'... i mean, when he was around and the only one cooking, we also split the gas bill 3-ways what. we also had to pay for things we didn't use. he and his petty little mind cannot seem to fathom that he is making things VERY difficult for us despite his claims of 'not trying to be difficult'. i really had enough of all his crap, and so has roh. we definitely don't need such nonsense to mess up our happy lives and i'm determined to see that through.

anyway, tell you something quite funny. he finally deleted me from fb. HAHA! stupid childish moron. he deleted roh long time ago la.. that's not surprising. then i found out that he blocked me from his wall after a while. just more recently(last night in fact), i found out he blocked pow even! maybe because the last time he posted something, i also heard about it. but anyways, this time my friend(who wishes to remain anonymous) saw it and told me about it. i mean seriously, how many people does he want to block from his wall..? damn childish la. and today i confronted him about the bill issue.. by mid day, he deleted me as a friend. it's official then... he's no longer my friend. yay! (well, that's the only positive thing i can get out of this whole episode)

on a topic completely unrelated to my post title.. i am not in a very good state right now. i'm coming to the end of my 3rd year of bachelor and now i need to decide my next step in life (erm.. so to speak). this did not just occur to me days ago.. in fact, it's been on my mind since the start of this year. i've spoken to many people.. and even done the 'listing the pros/cons of each option' thingy but i still can't decide. honours or master of physiotherapy? well, for a brief period, i was quite settled with pursuing physiotherapy. i mean, c'mon.. in demand and pays well.. good prospects for the future mah. then today we had a talk in school for third year students like myself. and then i started opening up my options again.. i guess because physio wasn't what i intended to do when i took up this degree. i wanted to be involved in strength & conditioning and sport-performance related work. sadly, reality is that singapore doesn't have the well-developed market for sports scientists. at least not yet. after today's talk, i've re-opened the possibility of doing honours. why? because a part of me doesn't want to step into physio just yet. think about it.. if i did my masters in physio.. that's pretty much what i'll be doing for the next two decades or so, and doing honours will still enable me to eventually become a S&C coach/sports trainer.. maybe even a lecturer?
i need to sleep on all of that.. and pray about it as well. this was like back then after O's.. but tougher decisions. last time, when i didn't know what i wanted to do.. just go JC lor. now not so fun anymore.. sigh, the stresses of life. speaking of JC.. here's a short clip of a dance from a bollywood play put up by the arts society. it was a tremendous hit and apparently the junior batches adapted the moves and created the 'fun dance' for subsequent orientations. JC may not have been the smartest choice i made.. but it was definitely worth it.

woke up bright and early today for CITY TO SURF! pow, jerry and i are joining the 12km run. and like the name of the event suggests... we're running from the city to the beach.

last day in sydney. travelling out of the city today.. to bondi and DFO (direct factory outlet).

i like that sydney has tram services. this was our means home most nights after star city because it operates 24/7.. well, at least from central station to star city. i heard perth is planning to introduce trams as well.. don't know how reliable that news is though. still, that will be nice. anyway, back to the fish market we went.

obviously i dived for the oysters first.

this is the first time i actually experienced tasting FRESH, SWEET OYSTERS. super delicious can..! you know how they also describe 'good' oysters to be sweet and without the fishy smell.. i never believed that the fishy smell will ever be completely absent. but these oysters... oh my... really got no fishy smell. and after you swallow it, you can literally taste sweetness. not even like what i had at freo. this will have to be a hundred times better.

and as you know, pow is not a fan of raw food.. so he only could only enjoy the lobster (and prawns.)

before we left, we ordered calamari to go. because pow's the type for fried stuff. haha! like when people go japanese restaurant eat sashimi, he go and eat tempura.

headed to train station to buy our travel pass for the day. 2 destinations for today.. bondi junction and strathfield.

i wasn't expecting this but i suppose it's the more authentic version.

dinner was really good! everything in sydney beats perth.. their vietnam cuisine, thai cuisine, malaysian cuisine... argh! why can't perth have good food like that too?! ok la.. to be fair, we have fantastic apple strudel and italian food.

the sky tower is situated right smack in the city, so we spent some time shopping around. near late afternoon, we decided to venture to sydney fish market. it was kind of a last-minute thing because pow isn't one who appreciates raw seafood. but it's sydney fish market! we made it all the way here, might as well go right?! anyway, i wanted to try the seafood that so many people raved about. from city, we went across pyrmont bridge to get to the fish market.

third morning in sydney. this is the day i've been looking forward to the whole trip! assemble time was 7am.

while we were busy filling out forms, the guy told us wind conditions won't allow us to jump so we'll have to wait till the weather clears up.. which will be about early noon. argh! so meanwhile, we'll have to kill some time. we decided to take a slow walk to circular quay because i wanted to take pictures of the buildings along the city.

we were almost at circular quay when suddenly i spotted max brenner!! we both haven't tried it before so we decided to take a break. never knew singapore had an outlet and i had to learn about max brenner from a malaysian(more specifically edmond). but they say the original is better.. haha. i'll go back to singapore, try max brenner there and then let you know my verdict.

the tubes super cool la. i thought it was just for decoration purposes but the mixer actually sends chocolate to the outlet behind the counter where they serve it.

as we continued on our little 'walk', pow got a call from the guys at skydivers and they told him the weather's fine and we're good to go. so we had to brisk walk all the way back which was tiring like mad la. the ride to our skydiving location was a long one, so we managed to catch some shut eye.

this lock-cock thing was our ride up 14000 feet. the plane was at a upward angle the whole time and it sounded like parts were going to fall off when we were in mid air.

it is by far the most extreme activity i've ever participated in and i'm really proud of myself. of course i count myself to be very lucky to have the opportunity to live abroad and gain such experiences. yes money is an issue, but i reckon it's very much worth the investment. and for that, i have my wonderful daddy and mummy to thank.

i just spent the past hour and a half watching NDP live online. and my gosh... i miss singapore so much! it's my second year living abroad but i think last year i was busy playing mahjong or something, so i didn't feel like i missed out on anything. this year, watching the national day parade and listening to all the national day songs make me miss home like mad. the theme song this year was only so-so though.. maybe because i'm not corianne may's biggest fan(to be honest, i'm not even a fan). but when kit chan appeared and started singing 'home'... i cried. it's the best national day song ever and even i will feel all patriotic and pro-singapore when i hear it every national day. just now, it was the first time i'm actually touched by the song. even the lyrics mean so much more.
2010's parade is cool.. got mobile column! and the fireworks so pretty.. especially when the camera shows the skyline. there's almost fireworks from every major building within city hall and marina area. and all the heartland venues also.. my gosh, the crowd looks huge man. now i have this gigantic craving for mee soto, prata, ayam penyat and ba chor mee. i want to go home......
singapore is home, truly.. where my senses tell me. this is where i won't be alone. for this is where i know i'm home. happy 45th birthday singapore!

day 2 started with tim sum breakfast at some chinese restaurant above paddy's market.

krist and edmond went to meet some friends and we had our own plans for today also.. going to see the famous opera house and harbour bridge. some more view of the city...

spain had just won the world cup.

we took a free bus to circular quay, where we will be taking a short cruise. it's part of the package we signed up for with backpackers.

see the people on the bridge? they're climbing the bridge. i actually wanted to join the tour but it's quite expensive. and since we've already spent so much for skydiving, we decided to give it a pass this time.

it may look hot but it's actually very cold. we had time to kill and you know how they say it's shiok to eat ice cream on a cold day. finally on the cruise. man, was the wind strong that day. i got evidence in one of the photos later.

there's alot more than just the opera house and harbour bridge to see on the cruise but i shan't bore you with all that. the cruise took longer than we thought, so after that we walked back to the city to meet krist and edmond for early dinner. they recommended this malaysian restaurant, mamak. the queue is madness.. every single night. so pow and i went at 5.30pm to make sure we got seats. we still had to wait a little while.. but at least we're not eating dinner at 9pm.

poor me, living with 4 other guys! you can tell it's guys living in this room the minute you enter. i mean, i can literally smell dirty socks just standing beside my bed. we're taking the bunk at the other corner of the room which gives me more 'private' space. enough on that, we then went to meet kristine!! coincidentally, her hotel is just across the road from mine. (: first time meeting edmond... very nice guy. first stop... 朱妈妈 for breakfast.

we stopped for a drink because i was so tired. let me explain.. our flight was the night before at 11.55pm. the plan was to catch some sleep on the plane, arrive in sdyney at 6.10am (sdyney is ahead by 2 hours) and start our trip. i barely slept on the plane, so by early afternoon i was already shagged. anyway, the chocolate was good. i ordered hot chocolate and here's edmond teaching me how to drink it.

i was only meant to pour some of the chocolate but i went for the whole cup.

we spent the rest of the afternoon walking around the city. i was still as tired as hell but i couldn't resist the shopping.

well, i'm almost halfway through winter break actually. haven't had the time to blog because i was doing my practicum with UWA fitness and recreational centre. not to mention world cup!!! super busy la.

anyway, i'm done with my prac... so now i can fully enjoy watching matches without worrying about waking up early the next day. i reckon that's one good thing about australia... world cup is on free-to-air channel so we get to watch every match. i heard in singapore they open up the CCs for people to watch the earlier match.. not a bad idea too. still, i think it's good that we don't need to pay to watch world cup.

genevieve was here straight after exams! short 5 day trip... but being in boring perth, there's only so many places i can bring her to. tried to be the best host i know how and took her to see as many nice and interesting things as possible. we even ventured swan valley on our own, so that was really cool. i'll probably put up the pictures soon.. (:

oh, and i was writing this post because i saw (on xiaxue's blog) that sticky came to singapore. in perth, we have roc candy.. which i intro-ed to gen who then bought some back. but now, they won't be special anymore.. sorry gen!

good thing there's world cup this holiday.. and when it ends, HELLO SYDNEY & MELBOURNE!!! yes, i'm going for a interstate trip which i'm uber excited about. some things on the agenda are like, eating, shopping, SKYDIVING, snorkling if possible... yay yay! i'm so excited for my 10 day trip. (:

news news! i've passed my strength and conditioning level 1 course and completed my practical hours for AUSTSWIM. got both my certificates in the mail last week... it feels great man! oh, and i received a teacher's license card from AUSTSWIM too. i haven't actually done anything about it yet.. but it's still dead cool to know i'm a qualified swimming instructor now. going to apply for a job at uniswim next semester. awesome man... (: i hear the pay is good, plus the hours are pretty relaxed. as in you can choose to work as many (or as little) hours per week so that rocks my socks totally.

yea.. this is just a small distraction from all the studying. you'll hear me ranting quite often during this period.

insolent, impudent, completely impossible! how is one suppose to take that lying down? i don't reckon i will. the glass is half full, not such an easy notion to fathom. we all consciously know it's better to think that way, but in reality our subconscious mind will reveal that the glass is indeed half empty. my point...? it's not always easy to look at the good/positive/incentive when the bad/negative/drawback is staring you in the face in a form of some kind.

it's the start of study break. i'm relieved and anxious at the same time. please let me pull through this.. i really need to! it doesn't help when idiots don't bother to do chores with the excuse it's exam period. why don't they stop breathing as well?! well... what can i say, they are idiots.

remember the unhappy housemate issue i mentioned a while back..? well, there are some updates. apparently, the news travelled back to singapore and it's making me damn pissed.

about a week back, gabriel msn-ed me. initially i thought he was going to talk to me about the issue, given that he's always been like my big brother but he didn't mention it at all. i figured it was probably hard for him to start on the topic since he knows what kind of temper i have. then more recently, david msn-ed me. david.. whom i believe i've not talked to on msn for more than 5 times, came and started a conversation with me. started with small talk, then he gave his comments about the issue. it wasn't much la, he just said..

"apparently things are not going too well over at the apartment"

"we did talk to kyler a few wks back"

"he also shared his feelings... heh"

"but i guess u are kinda like the middleman that got pulled into the problem"

"oh well... lets hope it will turn out fine"

my replies were mostly one word answers because i really didn't want to talk about it.. not when he's only got one side of the story. he's probably just concerned for his friend and he didn't lecture me, so i'm cool.

i just found out that this is now the talk of the class. but everything is just kyler's side of the story. i won't fail to mention names (or name rather) this time because i don't think he deserves any of my respect. to any of my fellow schoolmates who are reading/may hear about this, please don't come to me and tell me to work things out. the fact is that kyler choose not to even try and work it out. things weren't going his way and that was enough reason to pull out. so technically, there's was nothing i could do. all the sad things that you hear happening to him are all his own doings. he chose to leave our project group and join others. he chose to not get white bulbs for his room when roh and i offered to split the cost of it and then complain that he has to sit at the dining table to do work because his room is not bright enough.

i could go on forever but i really can't be bothered. i'm not trying to act like the victim and i most definitely don't need any sympathy votes. i find kyler hypocritical and petty and that's the opinion i'm entitled to have. as long as you have no problem with my warped opinion, i'll be fine with yours.

finally.. all major assignments and presentations are over! the last 2 weeks were sooo tiring. now there's just one practical assessment left before term officially ends for 1 week study break... THEN EXAMS!!!

i keep telling myself not to panic... and look at the brighter side of things. winter holidays! yay.. this year's break is 5 weeks instead of 4. travel plans are not yet confirmed but i will travel somewhere, on something. really can't wait for this semester to be over.. it's probably one of the worst i had. maybe it's the 3rd year units that are cranking me up.. OR MAYBE it's just the mess created by some annoying dickhead (andy will know who i'm talking about).

premier league ended last weekend and chelsea won. hat trick for my captain drogba and my 2 changes, van persie and giggs, paid off. when giggs retire, i will buy a man utd jersey with his name on it. well, the boomz part is that i overtaken doh in our little competition.. 3rd place!! i worked hard for it ok?! i joined the league 2 weeks late and it took me until almost week 'don't know what' before i climbed out of last position.

raisa facebook-ed me that mummy misses me. it was then that i realise mum did not see my text. so i called her last night and here's how the conversation went. my dear mother screamed "how come you so late then call?". she's been expecting to hear from me but cleverly did not bother to switch her handphone on. so i told her.. "but i got sms you, got on your handphone anot?". then she laughed... and told me "oh! no la.. i never on. why you don't sms daddy's phone?" in my mind i was thinking.. since the text was meant for her, i thought it would be nicer if she received a beep on her phone and proceed to open and read it, much better than having my dad pass her the phone going, "eh, kristy sms you happy mother's day." right?!

oh well, i should have known better.. haha! was kind of hoping she would have learnt by now to turn on her phone on days like these.

second birthday away from home and i suddenly realise how fast time flies. this year is it man.. the do-or-die. by the way, thank you to all the lovely people who sent their wishes!

well, the not-so-happy part is due to house issues. housemate issues to be more precise. the problem is not with me though.. it's a problem my other 2 housemates are having. it became my problem when one of them couldn't just be a man and suck it all in. he decides he wants to move out when the lease ends (after we've all pretty discussed and settled on staying here till end of the year) and childishly also announced that he will be joining another group to do a project because he, and i quote, "cannot see eye-to-eye with" my other housemate.

i have no issues with any of them.. of course living together with 'friends' is going to create some friction. different lifestyles and habits what.. i understand. i'm upset because he left me in the lurch.. so to speak. i feel betrayed and made use of by him and it really frustrates me because i have to fend for myself now. i've planned earlier in the year to prevent something like that from happening.. i've even told them something like that is likely to happen so we've decided to 'work it out' the best we can. he didn't do his part. he just decided he's not happy and wants out.

i told him off.. (maybe i was more upset than angry at that time, so i wasn't totally horrible when confronting him) i told him that he's selfish, petty and extremely childish. i didn't just throw those adjectives in his face la.. i explained why.

well.. i'll have to take things one step at a time now. see what happens next semester.

my internet is recently up. yea, i've moved again. but my new house is pretty awesome, especially my room. only down side is that it's in the suburb.. well, goodbye city life. anyway, back to my room.. it's huge! like really huge.. it's bigger than any of my previous rooms and the rent is so much cheaper! it's huge to the extent that i can even put a mini fridge and tv if i wanted to.. besides the king-size bed and table that's already there. oh.. and i have a walk-in wardrobe. see! i told you my room is awesome. (:

3rd year is slightly more hectic than 2nd, hence my lack of updates. there's less contact time but now we have prac hours to clock. and i think by now, i'm pretty used to not having internet.. so it'll take a while before my habit of blogging gets back on track. i'll post pictures up soon.. there's tons of them but i'm a little lazy right now.

on another note, i miss my friends (you know who you are). wish i can be there for them when they need me.. i just hope i'm not forgotten.

i know i'm late in doing my 'thoughts on 2009/welcome 2010' post but here it is anyway. sorry for the delay.. bangkok from the 27th-30th was too tiring i had to rest on the 31st.

2009 was great! well.. for one, i managed to cross out most things on my goal-setting card. most of the year are memories of australia.. and that's something i have my daddys to thank for. it's really hard being away from home all these months but i'm really thankful for my besties who are just like family to me.

and andy dearest, for always keeping me company on msn.. showing me videos on youtube and giving me updates about what's going on in church. it's not that i don't get your point.. i do. you just don't like it when i disagree with you and then you'll say i don't get it. still, it's always nice to hear from my happy rocker.

last but definitely not the least.. pow. 2009 isn't 2009 without you. the past 11 months knowing you has been an adventure and the last 6 months loving you has been a fairytale. i really don't know what you see in me but i'm very grateful that you chose to love me.. because i'd never in my life think i could actually find a guy as perfect (in my opinion) as you. thank you for seeing the best in me and loving me so unconditionally. kiss kiss.
